WTC National Championship (East), Morin Heights, Quebec
Michel Belanger takes 2019 National Championship (East)

Michel Fortin Belanger won both events on September 14 and 15, 2019 to once again win the WTC's Canadian Championship (East).

2019 WTC National Championship (West)
Sam King wins 2019 Championship

Australian Sam King is the 2019 Canadian National Champion (West), having won the championship event, which took place at Scotch Creek, BC, on Sunday, May 19, 2019.

Not too many points were taken by the top experts at the National Championship event, with the 42 competitors all having a great time, with lots of stories and smiles at the finish.

2018 WTC National Championship (West) - Round Two
Sean Bird wins round two, Stan Bakgaard takes the series

The second round of the WTC National Championship (West) took place at the Carl Kuster Mountain Park, at Malakwa, BC, on September 30.

The expert class was won by Sean Bird, with Sam King in second place. Stan Bakgaard's third place finish ensured him the WTC National Championship title for 2018.

Competitors arrived from the Northwest Territories, Alberta and the west coast for the second (and final) round of the WTC National Championship (West) on Saturday, October 30. The complete results for the trial are shown HERE.


2018 WTC National Championship (East)
Michel Fortin-Bélanger wins both rounds

The Association des trialistes amateurs du Québec hosted both rounds of the 2018 WTC National Championship (East) on Saturday and Sunday, September 15 and 16. The event took place at Morin Heights, Quebec, and included rounds nine and ten of the Quebec Provincial Trials Championship.

Both rounds in the expert ctegory were won by Michel Fortin-Bélanger. The overall second place ended up as a tie after two days of stiff competition. The joint winners of the number two plate (expert) were Felix Fortin-Bélanger and Ontario's Brian Wojnarowski. Congratulations to the winners, and to all the competitors.

2018 WTC National Championship (West) - Stan Bakgaard wins Round 1
Sunday, July 1st at Revelstoke, BC

On July 1st, 2018, the first round of the WTC National Series (West) at Revelstoke, BC saw riders arrive from as far away as Yellowknife, from Alberta and various other parts of BC. Extreme wet weather limited the size of the overall entry, but it was a challenging and rewarding event for those who braved the weather.

Results - National Championship (West) on October 8, 2017

It was a challenging year in which to organize trials in the BC interior in 2017, with the extreme forest fire hazard throughout the summer.

The WTC Championship (West) was eventually run on October 8, at the Carl Kuster Motorcycle Park, near Sycamous, BC. The winner of the Champ class was Sam King, followed by Sean Bird and Tanner Nordin.

Results - National Championship (East) on July 8 & 9, 2017

Competitors from Ontario and Quebec made their way to Riviere du Loup, Quebec, on the weekend of July 8 and 9 to vie for the Canadian National Championship (East).

In the Championship class, the winner was once again Michel Bélanger, with Oantario's Jonathan English and Brandon Cambareri in second and third place overall.

The sections were challenging, and some riders switched to a different class during the course of the weekend. This caused some Sunday scores to be ignored in the quest for national championship points.

Results of the National Championship (West) at Revelstoke, BC
on September 3 & 4, 2016

The Canadian National Championship (West), sanctioned by World Trials Canada, took place on September 3 and 4 at Revelstoke, BC.

The WTC National Championship (West) appears to have been an unqualified success, with 46 competitors in six classes, and a huge crowd of spectators.

Tino Marin of Calgary won the Expert class. Please see the full results HERE.


National Championship (East) Results, La Tuque, Quebec, May 21 & 22, 2016

The two rounds of the National Championship (East) took place at La Tuque, Québec on May 21 and 22, organized by ATAQ.

The Bélanger name appears more then once in the results, with the first three expert places on both days (and thus the overall results) showing Michel Bélanger, Brian Wojnarowski and Paul-Yvan Bélanger as first, second and third. The Junior results show Axèle Fortin Bélanger as the winner of both rounds, and thus the national champion (East) in the junior class.

WTC 2016 National Championship dates announced

The WTC has announced the dates of the national championship rounds for 2016, along with the dates of the Outlaw Series.

May  21 & 22 National Championship - East
Sept  3 &  4 National Championship - West
            
The National Championship (East) will be organized by ATAQ, and will be located at La Tuque, Quebec. The National Championship (West) will be organized by Dave Rhodes, and will be located at the Glacier House Resort, at Revelstoke, BC.

Both days of the National Championships (East) were won by Québec's Michel Bélanger. The full results of both days can be seen here, for day one, and here, for day two.

The National Championship (West) was won by Sam King on day one, and by Tino Marin on day two. Tino Marin's 2 -1 placing gave him the edge for the overall championship. The full results can be seen here.
